Jeanie has worked on LGBTQ advocacy campaigns on both marriage and non-discrimination efforts. She shares with us some of her favorite memories and greatest challenges in the work. Currently she is off hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as part of her goal to be walking for a year, she’ll be heading over to the Continental Divide Trail next.
SHOW NOTES
Just as a side note, this is actually the very first interview I ever recorded for this podcast. Part of why it’s taking me so long to post is because Jeanie and I recorded a conversation that was an hour and 40 minutes! I had yet (and am still learning how) to be concise!

Recommended Reading from Jeanie
The Case for Reparations by Ta-Nehisi Coates is an article originally published in Atlantic Magazine that should absolutely be required reading for all white folks. If you don’t have a lot of time for reading, good news, the Atlantic has an audio file so you can listen to the article. I’ve embedded it below for your easy access.
The other recommendation from Jeanie for your reading pleasure is Braiding Sweet Grass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. You can find it at your local library or book store, you can also find it at amazon smile, AND, if you’re like me and like to listen to books, you can find it here on Audible as well.
